This is 3rd rail for my Berlin S-Bahn trains which you can download from Trainz Luvr at projects-view.php?pid=270 .
At the moment its only suitable for these trains, because as far as I known there are no other trains for Trainz yet which use this kind of system. Even though this 3rd rail system is quite popular and used for most modern undergrounds and electric city railways all over the world, because it is safe and reliable.
So what's the main characteristic of it: The current is collected from underneath the power rail which is covered on top and on both sides with plastic sheeting.
The package I'm releasing consists of the following parts:
1) 4mst3rdRail - 4mst rail with 3rd rail
2) 4mst3rdRailStartEnd - 4mst rail with 3rd rail start left
3) 4mst3rdRailStartEnd1 - 4mst rail with 3rd rail start right
4) 4mstSBahn - 4mst rail as above, but without 3rd rail (to have matching track)
5) 3rdRail - 3rd rail spline without track
I've decided to go for track combined with 3rd rail because I find it a whole lot easier to construct. The 3rd rail as spline is meant for bridges and tunnels.
The new version for Sp 1.3 and UTC contains two static pices of rail with 3rd rail start, one for left and one for right. To use this a piece of invisible track (KUID:35412:38999) from Mike Banfield (Mike10) is needed. You can get that from custom_content_rails_standard.html . Beware: Without it those two static tracks will crash Surveyor!
All items appear under "Berliner S-Bahn" in the Surveyor track, splines and scenery menus.
Please, also download Berliner_S-Bahn_3rd Rail_2.cdp which contains the missing static 3rd rail piece left!
