Team: Bogdan Draghici (USER.RO) - Model and Texturing and Henry - provider of technical details for project, no end of enthusiasm and additional details.

These trains of the Berlin S-Bahn (electric city railway) were the standard trains build between 1927 to 1933, first as class Stadtbahn (1927-1930) and then as class Wannseebahn (1933) for the newly electrified Berlin S-Bahn. Over 1000 units were build and for some 70 years they came to symbolize the spirit of the Berlin S-Bahn.
They did run right through a murderous war which left large parts of the city in ruins, coming only to a standstill a few months in 1945. They carried on relentlessly through the partition of the city, transporting many refugees from East Berlin to West Berlin until the Berlin Wall was build in 1961, and they still did their duty when Berlin and Germany was eventually re-united in 1990 and they were able to journey again unhindered through all parts of Berlin and into all the suburbs. Only at the end of the nineties, on the 21st of December 1997, the last of them, in a modified and modernised form, finished its last regular service forever.

This particular model is of class Wannseebahn (ET 165), which only differs from the preceding Stadtbahn class in that the bodies were welded rather than bolted together. The model is in the state in which the train was in the fifties and sixties.

The model and the texturing has been done by Bogdan Draghici, while I have provided technical details, drawings and photos from my extensive library on the Berlin S-Bahn and have added some additional details and corrections.

The train comes with a driver's view which has working dials but no controls yet.

This release is pre Trainz Sp3, even though it also should work on Sp3, except for the cab control mode (the engine file is not yet updated for Sp3).
