UPDATE: I finally have had some time to work on this again after a long break. I've got it all compliant with 1.3 and now I need to fine tune the performance and have a little more modeling to do with the couplers on the cars. 10/29/02

The goal is to create the entire BART system (using DEM data for terrain) including all custom stations and many custom scenery objects. I will model all three car types (A, B, C). C is currently finished (almost). I've found detailed track diagrams with all switches and will use those to accurately recreate the system.

The first station released will be embarcadero and is almost completed. It's fairly detailed including animated info boxes above the platforms that animate when a train approaches.

This is my first attempt at 3d modeling (but I'm fairly adept at photoshop, which helps), so it's slow going right now, but as I learn I'm starting to pick up speed. As if getting the modeling right isn't bad enough, then I have to get it working in trainz.;) Heh.

UPDATE: West Oakland is about done (just needs minor fixes). The tunnels are almost done as well. As a result of the tunnels, I need to modify Embarcadero a little to provide a smooth transition. Also, I spent a bunch of time working on the elevated track types with supports. I didn't take a screen shot, but I'll post one sometime soon. They're done and work pretty well. I'm going to start putting all the pieces together and hopefully release everything I have so far shortly after sp3 comes out (hopefully soon).

Thanks for all the kind words and encouragement! Special thanks to Eric Haas for his great photos of BART! Without those, I'd be dead in the water.:)
